Welcome to the deep, dark recesses of my own personal candyland. Things you may or may not find now and or later include, but are not limited to: mediocre crossover art, mediocre art in general, mediocre headcanon, ponies, more ponies, inane scientific/science-fiction ramblings that may or may not drive you utterly mad and a wee bit of drivel. You're probably already utterly mad just for reading this, but I digress, proceed with caution as I am not liable for your own sanity.
Sorry for the wait guys, been busy with work related things. I’ll post the next card tonight.
Try what I did - go through some of the free Tumblr themes, download some of the ones you like, then pick them apart in notepad++. Simple tweaks can fix a lot of things. This is from someone with pretty much 0 coding knowledge.
So I work at a local public school and yesterday was Valentine’s Day. For anyone who’s ever worked for kids, you probably already know that this means candy and a crapload of it. By the end of the party, we’d probably gone through a few dozen boxes of sweets.
It was as I was handing out the Skittles to the kids that I took pause and turned to one of the head teacher and said (humorously):
"Wait a second, what one earth are we doing!? We’re practically feeding these kids raw sugar. They’re going to be off the wall."
To which she replied:
"No. We’re filling these kids with candy… and then we’re sending them home."
And I love it.
Nearly done - need responses from two more blogs, and as a result of one blog shutting down am down to needing to add two more.
11 Consenting Blogs
2 Undecided Blogs
2 Blogs Needed
11 Cards Done/Near Done
2 Cards To Be Redone
2 Cards To Be Added
Strangely coincidental statistics.
Either way, gotta figure out two NEW, NEW blogs to add to this project, get responses back, get responses back from two remaining blogs, finish the remaining cards, review all 15, and then I can start previewing the finished products.
Thanks for bearing with me!
Alright, so well into the release of the MLP CCG I think it’s time I put in some opinions - because why not?
First let me establish a few things - I am not in any way involved in the development or writing of the game, as much as I’d like to be. I write cards as a hobby at this point (though I’d gladly do it as a job if I could) so take anything I say from this point forward with a grain of salt - I have experience but none of it is professional in any way. Most of this will be educated-opinion based for the most part.
Anyhow, I’m going to go a bit in depth to the meaning of Flavor and Balance when it comes to CCG design. I’ll go into detail and provide examples and stuff, so go on down below for the spiel of a lifetime.
